Aintree Racecourse

Start of sidecar race

The Aintree club circuit is on the other side of the Melling road from the main stands of Aintree racecourse. They have separate meetings for bikes and cars. This meeting was for bikes on the 10th July 2004. The main Aintree motor racing circuit goes round the whole course and on the stand side of Melling road it is outside the horse racing track. On the club circuit side of Melling road it crosses over to the inside of the horse racecourse. The Aintree motor racing circuit was originally custom designed to hold the British Grand Prix and it first hosted this event in 1955 when Stirling Moss became the first British driver to win the British Grand Prix.
